We are very happy with our experience at Superior Granite. Everything has been seamless and professional: from our first interactions with Bill Hart walking the warehouse choosing our stone, to the installation of beautiful new countertops throughout our condo, to the final visit from Luis and Johnny to ensure everything was perfect, we were treated like valued customers. And a special shout-out to Luis and Johnny, who were friendly, caring, skilled, and committed to our satisfaction. We have already recommended Superior Granite to two of our friends for their value, experience, selection, clear communication and professionalism. 5/5 stars!Posted on Google![]()

Choose the Right Countertop Material for Your Space

Granite Countertops
Granite is a natural stone, quarried in solid slabs, so no two countertops look alike. It resists heat and holds up to daily kitchen use, though it may require periodic sealing depending on stone type and manufacturer recommendations. Best for homeowners who want a natural, one-of-a-kind surface.

Quartz Countertops
Quartz is engineered from crushed stone and resin, giving it a consistent pattern and color from edge to edge. It's non-porous, requires no sealing, and resists stains better than most natural stone. Its durability and low-maintenance surface make it a practical choice for busy kitchens and active households.

Porcelain countertops
Porcelain countertops are manufactured to resist scratching, heat, and staining, making them a practical option for high-traffic kitchens. They offer a clean, versatile look and are available in a range of colors and patterns to complement different kitchen and bathroom styles beautifully and effortlessly.

Natural Stone Countertops
We also carry a rotating selection of natural stone slabs beyond granite and marble, giving homeowners more options for unique colors, patterns, and textures. Our team can help you compare available stones based on appearance, durability, maintenance, and how you plan to use the space effectively.
Custom Stone Countertops in Pensacola
Stone covers a wide range of materials, and each one behaves differently in a kitchen or bathroom. Natural stone granite, marble, and quartzite is quarried directly from the earth, so no two slabs are exactly alike, and each one needs occasional sealing to stay stain-resistant. Engineered stone, like quartz, is manufactured from crushed stone and resin, giving it a consistent look with virtually no maintenance.
At Superior Granite, every stone countertop we install is hand-selected, templated, and fabricated in-house at our Pensacola shop, so whether you’re working with natural stone or engineered stone, the same team manages your project from slab to finished installation.
Granite vs. Quartz vs. Quartzite vs. Marble: Comparing Your Options
| Material | Best For | Maintenance | Look |
|---|---|---|---|
| Granite | Homeowners wanting a natural, unique surface | Sealing about twice a year | No two slabs alike |
| Quartz | Busy kitchens and low-maintenance households | Non-porous, no sealing needed | Consistent pattern and color |
| Quartzite | Homeowners wanting marble-like beauty with durability | Sealing about twice a year | Natural veining with a harder surface |
| Marble | Luxury bathrooms and statement surfaces | More careful maintenance | Classic soft veining |
Granite, Quartz & Quartzite for Everyday Kitchen Use
Granite and quartz both hold up well to daily kitchen use; the main trade-off is that granite needs annual sealing while quartz doesn’t, but granite offers natural variation that quartz can’t fully replicate. Quartzite is worth considering if you like the look of marble but want something closer to granite’s durability for daily kitchen use. It’s a natural stone, so it benefits from sealing about twice a year, but it resists scratching and etching better than true marble.
